Gather UP and „raise your hands for survivors“ at the Create Your Future Conference in Vienna

cyf1Raising awareness on the unemployment risk of childhood cancer survivors is one of the main struggles we are facing today within the Childhood Cancer Organizations.

Many employers are not aware of the fact that the challenges a child or adolescent suffering from cancer has to face don’t stop in the moment they are cured. Therefore, survivors are facing difficulties on their way back to society, education or work.

The CREATE YOUR FUTURE Conference that will take place on September 7th at the Kardinal König Haus in Vienna aims to create employment opportunities for survivors and also raises awareness on late effects of childhood cancer. It will host medical and health staff as well as HR practitioners and Survivors. It is addressed to everyone, whether you are an employer, doctor, survivor or you simply want to know more about this topic and it is cost free.

The speakers will talk about work as a human right, the obstacles that the survivors may face at work and give more information about life after cancer treatment.

There will also be Survivors speaking about their work after
they have been cured and it will be also a free space for discussions.

The conference will be held in German but there is English translation available. To see the full programm go to http://kinderkrebshilfe.at/das-sind-wir/internationale-aktivitaeten/create-your-future/konferenz
